Peace and War 012
12) Fortress of Love vs Memorial of Sorrow
Normal Life
The only tears that should happen inside a home are tears of joy at a graduation day, or tears from laughing too hard during dinner together. In normal times, a home is a fortress that keeps happiness and laughter safely inside its four walls. We try to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere, so everyone who comes home can leave their stress at the door. The greatest pain may only be comforting a child after failing an exam, or supporting each other during difficult days at work — problems that the love and hugs of family can still heal.
Life Changed by War
When war crosses the front door, tears of happiness disappear, leaving only endless tears of sorrow. The warm home becomes cold when it turns into a place for funerals without the bodies of loved ones, or a place where a mother holds her child’s clothes while sitting among ruins. The sudden loss of family members breaks the hearts of those left behind. They cry together with no escape from the pain. Grief takes over the home, changing a place of happy memories into a memorial of loss that can never return. War does not only destroy houses — it destroys hearts.
Peace protects the sacred meaning of home, so it remains a place of love, not a place of mourning.
