Peace and War 008

8) Protector Heroes vs Victims of War

Normal Life

A parent’s first instinct is to be the “hero” who protects their child’s small world.

We try to remove every fear, from tiny insects to bad dreams in the middle of the night.

Seeing our child trust us when we say, “Don’t be afraid, Mom and Dad are here,” is one of the greatest feelings for any parent.

This trust gives us strength to work hard and build the strongest protection we can, so our child always feels safe in our arms.

Life and War

When the first bomb falls, the pride of being a protector can collapse instantly.

Parents face the painful truth that their arms cannot stop bullets or explosions.

Seeing a child look at us with fear and questions, while we ourselves are shaking with fear, deeply hurts the heart of every parent.

War destroys our spirit and turns the hero in our child’s eyes into another helpless victim.

Instead of protecting our family, we can only pray for luck and survival.

The greatest pain is not only the danger of death, but the realization that we can no longer protect the people we love most in this broken world.

War does not only kill people. It also destroys the pride of being a parent.
